Organizations world-wide are recognizing the benefits of empowering their individual staff members in the successful application of Lean Thinking across their core business processes. Some of these organizations are now seeking organization-wide accreditation as a means of achieving maximum operational efficiencies and a discernible strategic marketing advantage over their main competitors.

The Irish Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) will award the following based on the appropriate level of competency demonstrated:

	Basic Lean Organization Award (Yellow Belt)
	Proficient Lean Organization Award (Green Belt)
	Advanced Lean Company Award (Black Belt)
	World Class Lean Company Award (Master Black Belt)

The IIE will take full cognizance of the organization’s current Lean strategies, prior learning, and savings achieved as a result of in-house Lean initiatives in the awarding of the appropriate Lean standard.
