“I searched for suitable training in Lean Thinking for
several months. I needed a program that provided adequate exposure to
the theory and tools of Lean management. The ability to engage in a
sustained learning project was most important for me.
The Lean Healthcare Certification course
handbook and materials provided links to other materials of value. The
availability of mentoring via email provided the consultation to
implement a Lean project. We anticipate that the improvements we
implemented using Lean Healthcare Services tools and mentoring will
result in an improved efficiency of our local VA Mental Health Clinic
by as much as 30%.
The Lean Healthcare Certification program
has provided me with the tools and experience to continue the pursuit
of excellence. I have recommended this program to others interested in
a practical, sustained, and excellent exposure to Lean Healthcare
management”

“I conducted a lot of research
before embarking on the journey of becoming Lean Certified. The
selection of offerings came down to a US university and Lean
Empowerment. The university offering was a certificate-based program
that focused on the concepts of Lean but only through a manufacturing
perspective. I chose this Lean Healthcare Certification
program because it offered a certification in Lean and focused on
healthcare examples and perspectives. I also really liked the ability
that it gave me to ask questions to the mentors, which I found are
located all over the world. What a way to find out what others are
doing, without taking one step away from your computer! I have
completed all of the modules and through the experience, have gathered
ideas, forms, best practices, new friends, and networking and, even
better, a sincere appreciation for what Lean can do for healthcare."

“The content of the program is
very well presented and is very relevant to my area of work. It enables
me to focus on 'real' projects as it is health-oriented, whereas up
until now Lean was very much centered around manufacturing
processes”
